Abstract :

nternet domain ranking serves as a crucial instrument for illustrating the level of popularity of a domain. Various methodologies are employed to assess and rank Internet or web domains based on their referrals, popularity, and traffic. This research delves into these methodologies and the associated platforms. It examines the primary ranking methods along with their distinctive characteristics, such as similarity, stability, responsiveness, and the degree of benignity (for instance, the likelihood of list alterations). The potential implications of these characteristics on the findings are also evaluated. Additionally, this study identifies the ranking indicators utilized by the principal ranking methods. Ultimately, the study concludes with a recommendation to utilize the combined Tranco ranking for assessing Internet domains. Furthermore, it is essential to verify the IP and Name Server (NS) for each domain on the extracted list, removing those that lack an IP address or have expired NS records.
