Abstract :
Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks disrupt communication between nodes in distributed Internet-of-Things (IoT) networks. Previous research has proposed numerous protocols to detect and prevent these attacks on IoT networks, but most have only been successful in countering attacks on one layer within a specific time frame. Trust management is essential for determining node trustworthiness, fault tolerance, improving user privacy, data security, and service delivery. This paper presents a fault-tolerant algorithm to increase the stability and security of IoT networks against DDoS attacks. The proposed fault tolerance mechanism includes data replication techniques, the use of alternative routes, and automatic error recovery, which increase the system's ability to deal with DDoS attacks and other threats. The proposed method and the baseline EIDDM method were implemented in MATLAB. Evaluating simulations with a baseline algorithm shows improvements in latency, energy efficiency, and communication overhead, as well as an increase in operating capacity.
